Who doesn’t love a good veggie burger? It’s one of life’s simple pleasures, really. There’s just nothing like a crispy, juicy patty between two buns, topped with whatever your heart desires. and when your burger craving strikes, you owe it to yourself to fulfill that craving. Say hello to this vegan beetroot burger with my homemade ‘cheese’ sauce. This vegan beet burger tastes very – well ‘unmeaty’. They actually look a little like the beyond meat burger when cooked. But, they taste much, much different. The patty is flavourful, yet not greasy. It looks great, yet don’t look like raw meat. Plus, this really is beyond meat. Not just meat-free, it is also easy and much healthier than storebought.
Beetroot is an obvious choice for a vegan burger because it resembles meat when grated and cooked. The intense colour of these burgers is so neat, but what’s really rocking my socks is how the beets provide this deep rich earthiness to the burgers. So much flavour depth. If you are a hardcore vegetarian/vegan; don’t let that deter you. Because I think the use of beetroot is quite clever. It has an earthy sweetness that is absolutely delicious when cooked with the right spices. It has enough liquid content to bind things perfectly. And it has to be one of the most nourishing veggies out there with immense health benefits.
Plus, everyone also loves a good creamy cheese sauce, amiright? Cheese is the reason why so many people are vegetarians and can’t go 100% plant-based, but I have good news for you: you can make delicious plant-based cheeses, like this amazing vegan cheese. This vegan cheese sauce tastes delicious on everything! Creamy gooey cheesy goodness without the actual cheese! You will be amazed at how this combination of veggies and spices create this out of this world creamy vegan cheese sauce!
