Hokkien Noodles

Hokkien mee is by far one of my favourite local noodle dishes!! This veganised version of the Hokkien noodles is one of the most famous dishes within the Chinese community in Singapore. This easy recipe replicates the ‘wok hei’ needed to braise the noodles in the special soy sauce for the best flavours and to achieve that smoky flavour.

The smooth, silky texture of the noodles laced with umami goodness is simply just irresistible. I guess it could also be the amount of oil that went along in the noodles. The flavour is simply bombastic if you ask me! In case you ever wonder what Hokkien is, it is basically one of the Chinese ethnic groups that originated from the Fujian province in China.

IF YOU EVER GIVE THIS RECIPE A TRY, DO LEAVE A COMMENT BELOW AND/OR TAG @FRUITYEMZ AND HASHTAG #FRUITYEMZ ON YOUR INSTAGRAM POST! I WOULD LOVE TO SEE ALL YOUR YUMMY CREATIONS 🙂
