Fillet-O-'Fish' Burger

Updated: Apr 5, 2018

Fillet-O-Fish has been a part of McDonald’s menu from a long time and apparently now they don’t serve the same sandwich as it was discovered as evolution has it… the recipe has evolved quite a lot over a period time through feedbacks and what not…. Well still the iconic sandwich still has those basic elements like a fish patty a hamburger bun (steamed) and an American cheese slice.

However, in the interest of leaving the poor fish alone. These vegan faux-fish sandwiches are the best replacement! Smells amazing, tastes amazing and I made the perfect vegan tartar sauce to put on top! Faux-fish sandwiches = best fish sandwiches.

I say “copycat” but really, this Fillet-O-Fish copycat is much tastier than the McDonald’s Fillet-O-Fish sandwich, and more filling with less calories. I think you’ll agree that this isn’t the first time a copycat recipe turned out better than the original.

There are so many reasons not to eat fish. There’s the fact that scientists know that fish do indeed feel pain, not to mention the toxic fish fleet that you’d be ingesting, plus knowing how the fish are caught and killed is horrifying!

While McDonald’s logo may be “I’m lovin’ it", the fact is, vegans are not loving it. This post is for vegans who may crave things like the Fillet-O-Fish burger. So dear McDonalds, no need to keep making this sandwich with animal products. This melt in your mouth vegan fish burger is everything!

Throw your oven on, just dip, and coat tofu. Bake. Whisk together totally awesome vegan tartar sauce and you are ready for vegan southern faux-fish sandwiches the best sandwiches you will ever have! The smell made my mouth water, then once I took a bite, I was very proud of myself, and you will be too!

While these faux fish fillets are best freshly cooked, any leftovers will also work in a sandwich on day two. Sure, the exterior won’t be crispy any longer, but it will still make for a tasty packed lunch.
